Ford To Up Production Of Electric Cars
Hybrids and electric cars are showing up on showroom floors around the country in record numbers, and Ford is looking to cash in on the craze. Other car manufacturers such as Nissan and Chevy have found success with their all electric cars, so Ford intends on triple the number of electric cars that it produces in order to entice buyers. New car shoppers can get a handsome tax credit for buying energy efficient vehicles, and Ford’s low prices will make the Ford Focus Electric even more attractive.
Normally, Ford manufacturers approximately 33,000 electric cars a year, but now the company is looking to increase that number to 100,000. In order to facilitate the increase in production, Ford will be hiring around 200 more employees. The plan will take Ford about two years to get into action, but when production increases, so will its profits.
Presently, Ford is the number 2 car manufacturer in the US. After a few rocky years, tumultuous events on the stock market and help from the federal government, it seems like Ford is finally back on solid footing. Consumers are looking to replace their older model vehicles with electric and hybrid cars because of the economic advantages. Ford will also need to increase its advertising spending if the company wants to start moving more units. Unless the general public knows all of the details about the Ford Focus Electric, they will continue to make their purchases from the companies that make more of an effort to appeal to buyers.
